The Sons of thunder

James and John. Disciples of Jesus Christ. The sons of Zebedee. The Sons of Thunder. They were ordinary men, with an extraordinary calling. They left their ordinary lives and occupations to embark on the most important mission on the earth- service to our Savior and the salvation of their fellow men. James and John were strong and bold but often hasty and rash. At times their zeal and tempers drew rebukes from the Savior, but their humility and love for Jesus allowed Him to polish their rough edges and turn them into two of the greatest men in history. Today the world needs men- husbands, fathers and leaders- that are strong, bold and brave. It needs men that are willing to allow Jesus Christ to transform them into the heroes that our families, communities and nations need. The world needs more Sons of Thunder.
